Generously oil
A thick layer of maintenance oil, leave to soak in overnight. Only then put into use.
First treatment
20 ml oil, rub in thinly with a cloth. Five minutes of work.
2x per month
Always the same treatment. Does the wood feel dry? Then a bit sooner.
Layer of beeswax
Seals the pores and keeps moisture out. Plus extra shine.

What you don't do.
The dishwasher
Water and heat are the quickest way to make a board crack. Always hand wash.
Cooking oil
Oil from the kitchen cupboard will go rancid in the wood. Only use TheWootz maintenance oil, 100% grapeseed oil.
To soak
A board that remains in the wash will absorb water and warp. Wash briefly, dry immediately.
