A large wooden cutting board for your worktop.
Our cutting boards are 45 x 36 cm and 3 cm thick. The butcher block is 40 x 40 cm and 6 cm thick. All three are solid beech, made by hand in Friesland.
How big and how thick?
Plenty of room to work
On 45 x 36 cm you can cut and push what you've cut to one side without it falling off the board. The cutting board and the cutting board with juice groove are this size.
A thick, heavy cutting board
Looking for a thick cutting board that stays put? Then take a look at the butcher block. It's 6 cm thick, twice as thick as the cutting boards. That keeps it flat and stops it sliding away when you chop.
No 60 x 40 board
We don't have a 60 x 40 cm cutting board. Our largest cutting board is 45 x 36 cm. So measure your worktop first. If that size fits with room for a bowl next to it, you're all set.
Large yet easy
After use, you store a 3 cm board upright, so it takes up little space. The care is the same as for any board: oil twice a month. A butcher block needs more oil each time. See care.
Every board gives someone a fresh start.
Our boards are made by hand in a training workshop in Friesland, where people at a distance from the labour market learn a trade.

Why a thick cutting board?
Thick wood stays flat better and you can sand it more often. A heavy board also slides around less when you cut or chop.

If you often cut meat or juicy fruit, the juice groove catches the juices. If you chop a lot, the butcher block suits you better.
