Why grapeseed oil?
Grapeseed oil penetrates deeper into the wood than mineral oil and feeds it from within. It prevents drying out, cracks and splinters, and brings back the natural colour of the wood. After one treatment you see the difference straight away.
Food-safe and odourless
The oil contains no additives that pass taste or smell on to your food. Safe for all wooden kitchen utensils that come into contact with food, from cutting boards to serving plates and wooden spoons.
Economical and easy to use
A small amount goes a long way. The 250 ml bottle is enough for many treatments. Simply apply with a cloth, let it soak in briefly and you are done.
Suitable for all your wooden kitchen utensils
Works on every type of wood: oak, beech, acacia, bamboo and more. Ideal for cutting boards, butcher blocks, serving boards, wooden spoons and spatulas.

How to care for your board →Everything you want to know.
How long does 250 ml of oil last?
You use about 20 ml per treatment, so 250 ml is good for just over twelve treatments. If you oil one board twice a month, it lasts about six months.
What can I use this oil for?
For all wooden items that come into contact with food: cutting boards, butcher blocks, serving boards and wooden kitchen utensils such as spoons and spatulas. On bamboo too.
Is the oil food-safe?
Yes. It is 100% grapeseed oil without additives, food-safe and odourless. It leaves no taste or smell on your food.
Why grapeseed oil and not olive oil?
Olive oil and other oils from the kitchen cupboard go rancid in the wood after a while and start to smell. Grapeseed oil does not go rancid and is odourless.
How do I apply the oil?
Make sure the board is clean and dry, apply a thin layer with a soft cloth or the TheWootz brush and let the oil soak in for 4 hours. Then wipe off whatever has not soaked in with a clean cloth. Give a new board a generous coat the first time and let it soak in overnight.
Is there a value set?
Yes. As a set of 5 bottles you pay less per piece. Choose the version with 5 pieces when you order to see what you save.
How do I care for my wooden cutting board?
After use, wash it briefly with warm water and a little washing-up liquid, dry it straight away and leave it to dry upright. Twice a month, give it 20 ml of TheWootz board oil: rub it in thinly with a cloth and let it soak in, five minutes' work. If the wood feels dry or turns dull, do it a little more often. A thin layer of beeswax afterwards seals the wood further. Never in the dishwasher and never left to soak.

What does shipping cost?
Shipping to the Netherlands and Belgium is free from 25 euros. If you order for less, you pay 2,99 euros shipping. A board costs more than 25 euros, so we always ship it free of charge.
Can I return my order?
