About this product

Your wooden cutting board or butcher block deserves more than just oil. Beeswax seals the pores, keeps moisture out and gives the wood a protective layer that lasts for months. The wax in this tin comes exclusively from Dutch bees.

More tins, lower price Beeswax gets used up, and that is the difference from oil. If you have several boards or treat them regularly, go for the value set of six.

The combination that really works Oil feeds the wood from within. Wax protects it from the outside. By applying a thin layer of beeswax after oiling, you lock the oil into the wood and create a water-repellent top layer. Your board dries out less quickly, absorbs less moisture and is easier to keep clean. One treatment and you see and feel the difference straight away.

Economical and long-lasting A little goes a very long way. Simply warm a small amount with a hairdryer, rub it out thinly over the wood and let it soak in. The 50 g aluminium tin is good for dozens of treatments and keeps for years without drying out.

Suitable for all your wooden kitchen utensils Works on every type of wood: oak, beech, walnut, acacia, bamboo and more. Perfect as a finish after TheWootz Board Oil, but can also be used on its own as a quick refresh.

questions?

Everything you want to know.

What do I use beeswax for?

As a finish after the oil. Oil soaks into the wood and feeds it from within. Beeswax stays on the surface and seals the pores, so moisture soaks in less quickly and the board gets a nice sheen.

How do I apply the beeswax?

First let the oil soak in completely. Then rub on a thin, even layer of wax with a soft cloth, let it soak in for at least 30 minutes and buff with a dry cloth.

How much beeswax is in it?

50 g, in an aluminium tin. You only need a little each time.

What is the difference with the wax block?

It is the same beeswax. From the tin you apply it with a cloth; the wax block you rub straight onto the wood, without a cloth.

Is there a value set?

Yes. As a set of 6 tins you pay less per piece. Choose the version with 6 pieces when you order to see what you save.

How do I care for my wooden cutting board?

After use, wash it briefly with warm water and a little washing-up liquid, dry it straight away and leave it to dry upright. Twice a month, give it 20 ml of TheWootz board oil: rub it in thinly with a cloth and let it soak in, five minutes' work. If the wood feels dry or turns dull, do it a little more often. A thin layer of beeswax afterwards seals the wood further. Never in the dishwasher and never left to soak.

What does shipping cost?

Shipping to the Netherlands and Belgium is free from 25 euros. If you order for less, you pay 2,99 euros shipping. A board costs more than 25 euros, so we always ship it free of charge.

Can I return my order?

Yes, you have 14 days to change your mind from the day you receive your order. Let us know, send the product back unused and undamaged in its original packaging, and you get your money back. The cost of returning it is yours.
