The ultimate introduction size The 20 ml bottle is meant as a first step into the TheWootz care range. Give it with a cutting board or butcher block you are giving as a gift, so the recipient can give the board its first treatment straight away. Small enough to try, convincing enough to stay.
Why grapeseed oil? Grapeseed oil soaks deep into the wood and nourishes it from the inside. It helps prevent drying out and cracking and brings back the natural colour of the wood.
Food safe and odourless The oil contains no additives that pass taste or smell on to your food. Safe for all wooden kitchenware that comes into contact with food, from cutting boards to serving plates and wooden spoons.
Suitable for all your wooden kitchenware Works on all types of wood: oak, beech, acacia, bamboo and more. Ideal for cutting boards, butcher blocks, serving boards and other wooden kitchenware.

That's all it takes. Use TheWootz board oil, 100% grapeseed oil. Food-safe and odourless.
How to care for your board →Everything you want to know.
How many treatments is 20 ml enough for?
For one treatment of one board. Handy for trying the oil or for giving away with a board.
What can I use this oil for?
For all wooden items that come into contact with food: cutting boards, butcher blocks, serving boards and wooden kitchen utensils such as spoons and spatulas. On bamboo too.
Is the oil food-safe?
Yes. It is 100% grapeseed oil without additives, food-safe and odourless. It leaves no taste or smell on your food.
Why grapeseed oil and not olive oil?
Olive oil and other oils from the kitchen cupboard go rancid in the wood after a while and start to smell. Grapeseed oil does not go rancid and is odourless.
How do I apply the oil?
Make sure the board is clean and dry, apply a thin layer with a soft cloth or the TheWootz brush and let the oil soak in for 4 hours. Then wipe off whatever has not soaked in with a clean cloth. Give a new board a generous coat the first time and let it soak in overnight.
Is there a value set?
Yes. As a set of 5 bottles you pay less per piece. Choose the version with 5 pieces when you order to see what you save.
Can I get this oil on subscription?
Yes. You get 5% off every delivery and the oil arrives automatically every month. You pause, change or stop it yourself in your account.
How do I care for my wooden cutting board?
After use, wash it briefly with warm water and a little washing-up liquid, dry it straight away and leave it to dry upright. Twice a month, give it 20 ml of TheWootz board oil: rub it in thinly with a cloth and let it soak in, five minutes' work. If the wood feels dry or turns dull, do it a little more often. A thin layer of beeswax afterwards seals the wood further. Never in the dishwasher and never left to soak.
Read the care guide →How quickly is my order delivered?

What does shipping cost?
Shipping to the Netherlands and Belgium is free from 25 euros. If you order for less, you pay 2,99 euros shipping. A board costs more than 25 euros, so we always ship it free of charge.
